The Echo Fix EF-P2 is the latest release in the rather restricted niche of real spring reverb pedals, i.e. stompboxes utilizing the spring + tank technology found in the reverbs embedded in vintage amps like the Fender Deluxe.
The Australian company was already well-known for its authentic (and not exactly affordable) recreation of classic vintage evergreen devices such as the Tape Echo, which also features a spring reverb that at least in part inspired the EF-P2.
The case features four knobs for Spring Drive, Bass, Treble and Reverb Volume, and two displays: an illuminated window showing the springs at work and a VU Meter displaying the amount of volume sent to the springs via the Drive control.
Compatible with both instrument and line-in, the EF-p2 can be use either on your board or as a studio effect, something that’s facilitated by the high headroom and the Kill Dry footswitch that entirely removes the dry signal.
We added the EF-P2 to our in-depth article about the best spring reverb pedals.
Echo Fix EF-P2, Builder’s Notes
The Echo Fix EF-P2 is a real Spring Reverb pedal that packs a huge sound into a small enclosure. The EF-P2 features a three-spring reverb tank, adjustable Spring Drive, Bass / Treble EQ controls, and Reverb Volume control. With a footswitch for reverb bypass and also a direct signal mute footswitch, the EF-P2 can also be used as an outboard effect in recording studios. With increased internal voltage rails for studio use, the EF-P2 can accept line level inputs from synths and other audio devices, not just guitar.
