California via Brazil brand Beetronics built a pedal empire on devices with names playing around the “bee” theme. And then came the… Tuna Fuzz?
Although the Tuna fuzz is a new release, it draws back to the days when company founder Felipe was living in Brazil, while teaching kids how to build simple effect circuits using unconventional cases. The tuna box stood out to be a reliable and fun case for a fuzz circuit, and – most importantly – pictures of it always received a lot of attention on social media.
Selling for only $99 exclusively through the company’s website, this a simple vintage-style fuzz with just a footswitch and one knob (labeled “Stinker”) to control the effect’s volume. The manufacturers doesn’t mention any vintage circuit as an influence.
