Handmade in Spain, the AS Pedal OCHOfuzz is inspired by the circuit of the Prescription Electronics “Experience”, itself based on the 1971 Foxx Tone Machine with an added, footswitcheable “swell” circuit that cuts off and slowly blooms each note.
The OCHOfuzz captures the vibe of those pedals with a thick, aggressive fuzz that avoids the nasal tone common in similar circuits. It delivers consistent saturation across different amps and offers plenty of bass without sounding thin or overpowering.
The OCTAVIA-style effect, triggered via the central footswitch, adds a pure octave above the played note, tracking well across the neck. When it’s activated, the Tone adjusts the octave cutoff, while Gain controls pick attack sensitivity.
The Swell switch, when active with the Octave, mimics the effect of reversing a recorded note by removing the initial attack. For best results, avoid placing other effects before the amp when using this mode.
We added the OCHOfuzz to our article about the best Foxx Tone Machine clones and Evolutions.
