J. Rockett Aqueous chorus

The J. Rockett Aqueous Chorus is a thoughtfully designed modulation pedal built around a bucket-brigade (BBD) core. Its defining feature is a Tilt EQ that acts only on the wet signal, allowing you to shape the modulated tone from a vintage, rolled-off character to a brighter, more modern sheen.

Control is comprehensive. The Speed and Depth knobs offer a wide sweep, from subtle thickening to intense, rotary-like swirls. The Mix control operates uniquely: for most of its range, it blends wet and dry chorus signal. Past the 3/4 mark, it routes a dry signal to the vibrato output while the wet, modulated signal remains under full Tilt EQ control, enabling you to craft a standalone vibrato tone before blending the chorus back in.

An integrated preamp (Output control) provides necessary gain makeup for the BBD circuit and can also be used to limit the input for more compressed, responsive dynamics.

In practice, the pedal covers expected ground—from classic chorus and vibrato to more experimental, phase-shifter-like textures—with a high degree of tonal specificity. The interface, while potentially deep, provides clear and musical tools for dialing in everything from studio-subtle enhancement to pronounced modulation effects. It’s a capable, professional-grade unit for players seeking detailed control over their modulation’s texture and blend.
