Hailing from the Los Angeles-based workshops of a bunch of Brazilian bee (and pedal) lovers, the Beetronics Whoctahell is a renewed take on the company’s first pedal, in a more compact and versatile format. It’s a monophonic, two-octave-down fuzz available in only 300 units (including 40 Custom Shop and 20 Limited Edition units).
Adopting the “almost mini” format of other devices from the company’s custom shop, the Whoctahell is as simple as it’s effective with three knobs controlling Fuzz (aka “Honey”), 1st Octave down (aka “Hell”), and 2nd Octave down (aka “Whocta”).
The results are equally satisfying on guitar and bass and can be heard in the videos below. They range from buzzy synth bass sounds to grating and borderline unpredictable glitchy tones ideal for edgy lead parts.
