The Spruce Effects Acadia Fuzz is the smaller (and much more affordable) brother of the company’s unit bearing the same name from the Americana Series – which is almost three times as expensive. It’s an uber-tweakable fuzz with multiple gain stages.
It launches a new line of pedals called Junior Ranger Series, and you can expect several if not all the devices in the Americana Series to undergo the Junior transformation in the near future.
The pedal’s Silicon diode-based circuit delivers a variety of tones ranging from articulate overdrive to full on wall of fuzz, thanks to the interaction of the following five knobs:
- Volume
- Gain
- Fuzz Level
- Bias – classic voltage reducer for spitty/velcroy tones
- Depth – setting the frequency being fed into the first gain-stage, from beefy to trebly
