The original TONEX ONE (blurb below) was already a marvel: AI Machine Modeling, hyper-realistic amp captures, and a full rig’s worth of tones in a box barely larger than a matchbook. But it had one glaring limitation. To edit presets, load new Tone Models, or organize your sounds, you needed a computer and a USB cable. In 2025, that felt like a relic.
The new TONEX ONE+ fixes that. And then some.
Bluetooth is the headline addition. The TONEX Control app for iOS and Android pairs wirelessly, letting you browse, edit, and transfer tones directly from your phone or tablet. No laptop required. No cable to lose at soundcheck. You can even stream audio from your phone for backing tracks or silent practice.
Full MIDI integration via 3.5mm TRS jacks and USB completes the connectivity upgrade. All 20 onboard presets are instantly recallable from any MIDI controller, opening the door for seamless integration into complex pedalboard rigs and automated switching systems. The ONE+ finally plays nice with the big boys.
Under the hood, nothing’s changed—and that’s a good thing. You still get 20 Tone Model slots (three simultaneously playable), 200 Premium Tone Models, and access to over 60,000 user-generated captures via ToneNET. The included TONEX SE software lets you capture your own physical rig. The built-in effects suite—compressor, EQ, noise gate, five stereo reverbs—remains intact. And it still doubles as a 2-in/2-out USB audio interface.
At 249.99/€249.99,theONE+commandsapremiumovertheoriginal?s179.99 price tag. For the added connectivity and wireless freedom, it’s a worthwhile upgrade—especially for players who’ve built their rig around MIDI control or who want to edit tones on the fly without hauling a laptop to rehearsal.
The original TONEX ONE was a portable powerhouse. The ONE+ is a portable powerhouse that finally works the way modern musicians actually play. Bluetooth and MIDI aren’t luxuries anymore. They’re expectations. IK Multimedia just met them.
IK Multimedia Tonex One (original version)

After the resounding success of the TONEX Amp/Cab Modeler (largish) pedal, the tiny IK Multimedia TONEX ONE is the natural evolution of that product, packing all of its power and tone in a mini enclosure. Oh and… it’s in stereo!
With the latest firmware update announced on October 3rd (and available in November), this little beast also features 8 tap-tempo enabled effects (2 delay types, chorus, flanger, phaser, tremolo and rotary) and 2 new effects blocks that can be virtually configured before or after your cab sim.
Due to the small size, most of the parameter tweaking must happen in the free app, aka the TONEX Software, which predates the pedals by several years, as part of the AmpliTube plugin platform.
Through the software, which lets you capture the tone of real amps via IR files, you can transfer new Tone Models from your library, ToneNET. With the ability to store up to 20 presets (assignable to three interchangeable preset slots) and access over 22,000 additional free Tone Models, the sonic possibilities are virtually endless.
The hardware features four knobs with double function: the big one will deal with both Gain and Volume, while the smaller yellow ones control, from left to right, Bass/Gate, Mids/Compression and Treble/Stereo Reverb.
If connected via a USB-C audio it can be also used as an audio interface for recording on Mac/PC. Its versatile connectivity options and compact design make it ideal also for solo practice or full band sans amp rehearsals. And the pricetag of $179 is incredibly tempting…
