The original TONEX ONE (blurb below) was already a marvel: AI Machine Modeling, hyper-realistic amp captures, and a full rig's worth of tones in a box barely larger than a matchbook. But it had one glaring limitation. To edit presets, load new Tone Models, or organize your sounds, you needed a computer and a USB cable. In 2025, that felt like a relic.

Those who were mixing records in the late '90s and early '00s will remember the awe generated by the first amp modeling plugins, which allowed producers to record a clean guitar and apply a choice of amps (and later also effects and mic placements) at the mixing stage.
