Based in California, Sundance Electric is a small pedal manufacturer that builds its stompboxes one by one, by hand. The company’s roster features a selection of fuzzes and overdrives, and the Clean Fuzz is their take on the much sought-after “versatile fuzz” design.
Although “Clean Fuzz” may sound like an oxymoron, the name makes sense because this is a fuzz with a Clean knob that – to quote the builder – “controls the amount of clipping from the diodes and in turn sounds like adding clean signal on top of your dirty tone.”
This control allows this fuzz to deliver a wider range of tones, including “not-exactly-clean” boost and overdrive ones, and also more dynamic and touch sensitive fuzz sounds.
A toggle in the back allows to switch the diodes from Germanium (more compressed, great for noisier fuzz) to Silicon (more open, good for boost and overdrive-like tones).

Sundance Electric Clean Fuzz, Builder’s Notes
The clean fuzz is a super versatile distortion/fuzz pedal that is killer for both guitar and bass.
Go from sweet dirty boost all the way to thick creamy fuzz and distortion. The clean knob really allows you to dial in the perfect amount of gain your looking for. The diode toggle switch allows you to switch from germanium or a silicon + germanium pair of diodes.
The germanium will give it a more compressed feel, and the silicon will give it a more open feel to it. This pedal is super versatile and works really well with your volume knob.CONTROLS:
