We can’t say we didn’t see this one coming, after, at winter NAMM 2016, we learned that TC Electronic had been bought by German pro audio manufacturer Behringer, known for their very aggressively priced products for musicians: the news is that (originally) Danish company just came out with a deluge of new, NOT TonePrint enabled, pedals well under $100, appropriately named “Smorgarsbord of Tones.”
Behringer had previously tried to enter the stompbox market with its own pedals, which received mixed reviews and didn’t seem to take off. It sounds like this new series is the fruit of Behringer’s cost cutting approach and TC Electronic’s talent for tone.
Gabriel at BestGuitarEffects.com has reviewed a bunch of them already and the overall impression seems good.
