TC Electronic Thunderstorm Flanger (Reviews)

The latest, super affordable family of TC Electronic pedals (released after the Danish company was acquired by Behringer) has had mixed reviews, but the Thunderstorm Flanger seems to be a true gem - it only costs $49.99! Our friends at Best Guitar Effects gave it a 5 stars out of 5, and also the guys at EytschPi42 were favorably impressed.... Click on the title for more

TC Electronics Mimiq and Keeley 30ms

doublt-trackers Double tracking guitar parts has been a technique used in recording for decades (and also live actually, if there is more than one guitarist) to thicken things up. It can make guitars sound bigger, fuller, wider, and more textured. In the '60s Abbey Road Studio's engineer Ken Thousand came up with a way to "automate" that effect on vocals, while working on a record by The Beatles: he called it "Artificial Double Tracking," what today is commonly referred to as "slapback delay" (although at the time, of course, it was done using analog tape).... TC Electronic unveils new series of super affordable pedals

tc-smorgasbord-of-tones1 We can't say we didn't see this one coming, after, at winter NAMM 2016, we learned that TC Electronic had been bought by German pro audio manufacturer Behringer, known for their very aggressively priced products for musicians: the news is that (originally) Danish company just came out with a deluge of new, NOT TonePrint enabled, pedals well under $100, appropriately named "Smorgarsbord of Tones."... New Pedals: TC Electronic Sub’n’Up Octaver

tce-subnupoctaver[1]

One of Danish manufacturer
TC Electronic’s newest additions to their Toneprint pedal series is the Sub'n'up, an octave pedal that combines some of the best features of various octave pedals into one unit. This is a rather simple but great sounding stompbox that is all about blending: there are knobs to control the wet/dry, octave up, and both octave down voices. There is also a toggle switch to dance between monophonic and polyphonic mode, which works with chords.... Click on the title for more

New Pedals: TC Hyper Gravity Compressor

10518033_800[1] The latest addition to TC Electronic's Toneprint line of pedals is the Hyper Gravity Compressor, a very versatile compression circuit in a compact stompbox footprint. Perhaps one of the coolest features of this unit is the 'multi-band' function, a type of compression generally applied via outboard studio gear or plug-ins during the recording process. ... New Pedals: TC Electronic Flashback Triple Delay

If you often find yourself thinking, "I friggin' love delay, but I need EVEN MORE of the same sound over and over," it might be time to look at a multi stage delay pedal. The TC Electronic Flashback Triple Delay can satisfy this need, and probably many others. This pedal means business; it is versatile and big in both features and footprint. It would take a blog post's worth of space to even transcribe the silkscreen labels, let alone describe all the fun stuff it can do.... Click on the title for more

Pedal Reviews: TC Electronic Ditto Looper

As I said in my review of Pigtronix's feature-packed Infinity Looper, there seems to be something in the water that's making people gravitate toward the one-man-band setup. The proof is in the gear. Complex programmable loopers, in both hardware and software, are becoming extremely popular, but today's subject, the Ditto Looper by TC Electronic, is all about the simplicity. As a matter of fact, it has a meager 1 foot switch, 1 knob, 1 input, 1 output and 1 multi-colored LED. Yet, it is still pretty darn feature packed considering the footprint and minimalistic interface.... Click on the title for more

Pedal Review: TC Electronic Hall of Fame Reverb

The
TC Electronics Hall of Fame is a compact and convenient digital reverb pedal.  With ten separate modes along with TC Electronics’ TonePrint options, the Hall of Fame is one of the most versatile reverb pedals in its price range.  The pedal’s deceivingly simple design conceals just how adaptable it truly is.  Through the Decay (sets the duration of the reverb), FX Level (controls the intensity of the effect) and Tone (determines how dominant the sound is), the Hall of Fame allows for a wide array of customization options.  On top of these controls, it contains a Pre-Delay toggle switch which allows you to select either a short or long pre-delay.  Whether you’re looking for the sound of a massive, cavernous hall or just trying to add a subtle ambience your guitar sound, this pedal can get the job done well, supplying some great sounding reverbs....
