Mad Professor Sweet Honey Overdrive Handwired

Too many overdrive pedals are liars. They promise touch sensitivity but deliver a brick to the face. The Sweet Honey Overdrive (an evolution of Björn Juhl's Supro-amp-inspired BJFe Honey Bee) isn't one of them. This Handwired version is hand-soldered in Finland (with love) by the new Mad Professor team: point-to-point…... Click for more

Jam Pedals Tubedreamer MK2

Another Tube Screamer clone? In 2025? Really, JAM? Except it's not. Not exactly. The Tubedreamer Mk2 starts with the classic 808 recipe—JRC4558D chip, asymmetrical clipping, that mid-hump that made the original famous. But then JAM did something brave. They added a switch that bypasses the clipping stage entirely. No diodes.…... Click for more

ThorpyFX Kudu Overdrive

How many different types of overdrives can one Englishman churn out? Adrian Thorpy seems determined to find out. Coggins handed over a tweaked classic at…... Click for more

Updated Pedal: IK Multimedia TONEX ONE+

The original TONEX ONE (blurb below) was already a marvel: AI Machine Modeling, hyper-realistic amp captures, and a full rig's worth of tones in a box barely larger than a matchbook. But it had one glaring limitation. To edit presets, load new Tone Models, or organize your sounds, you needed…... Click for more

New Pedal: Catalinbread Clean Little Secret

Portland's Catalinbread built its reputation on the Dirty Little Secret, a Marshall-in-a-box that conquered high-gain British roar. But every coin has a flip side. the Clean Little Secret is that flip, a low-gain foundation overdrive inspired by the Bluesbreaker, the combo amp that basically invented the "edge of breakup" before…... New Pedal: Tsakalis AC Master Boost + Overdrive

Athens isn't the first place you think of when someone says "cranked British amp." But Tsakalis AudioWorks is making a strong case for reconsidering that assumption. The AC Master is two classic circuits sharing a single enclosure: a VOX AC30 Top Boost overdrive and a Rangemaster-style treble booster. Not a…... Click for more

New Pedal: SoloDallas CD65 (CompanDrive 65)

Here's a pedal that admits what most overdrives pretend isn't true: your favorite records sound the way they do because of noise reduction. The CompanDrive 65 (aka SoloDallas CD65) is a compander. Compress on the way in, expand on the way out. That's what Dolby did to tape in 1965.…... Click for more
