The Source Audio Pathways is a tremolo and reverb pedal that understands its lineage. Spring reverb and tube tremolo have lived together since the days when amps came with both built in—because motion and dimension just work together. Pathways takes that classic pairing and expands it without overcomplicating it.
Seven reverb and echo engines cover the essentials and then some:
- Spring: Classic tube amp reverb. Bright, bouncy, the sound of clean guitar.
- Tank: Deeper spring with drip and resonance. Surf territory.
- Plate: Studio-style decay. Smooth, dense, no mechanical character.
- Hall: Wide, expansive, diffuse. For ambient and cinematic textures.
- Room: Natural acoustic space. Subtle enhancement without sounding effected.
- Slap: Short tape-style echo. 100ms of bounce for rock, blues, country.
- Echo: BBD-style delay up to 288ms. More presence than reverb, more space than slap.
Three tremolo voices bring the movement:
- Optical: Classic pulse. Clear rhythmic modulation from shimmer to chop.
- Bias: Tube-style breathing. Smooth, organic, connected to the note.
- Harmonic: Swirling frequency modulation. Richer and more dimensional than standard trem.
Separate footswitches let you engage each effect independently. Tap tempo lives under the trem side. A Beat Division switch handles quarter, eighth, and triplet subdivisions. All controls are on the face—no app required—but if you want presets and MIDI, they’re available.
Pathways is a pedal that rewards plugging in and playing. No menus, no deep editing needed. Just motion and dimension, ready when you are.
