The original Electro-Harmonix Small Stone V2 is a legendary phaser, revered for its lush, swooshing character. The Gallstone phaser is a faithful recreation of that classic circuit, loaded with modern enhancements that expand its palette while honoring the original’s sound.
At its core, the Gallstone retains the authentic OTA-based phasing of the Small Stone, offering the classic 2 and 4-stage modes. However, it introduces a suite of powerful controls a modern player expects. A Level knob corrects the vintage circuit’s notorious volume drop, while a Voice switch toggles between different feedback networks for tonal variation.
The expansion comes from its advanced features. An 8-position Width rotary switch and separate Feedback control deconstruct the original’s simple “Color” switch, offering a wider range of sweep intensities. An Expand button injects a tuned, high-Q filter for more resonant textures, and a Range switch enables super-slow LFO sweeps.
Housed in a compact 1590B enclosure, the Gallstone provides both a faithful homage to the original and a versatile, modern phaser for creative exploration.
