Seattle via L.A. high-gain amp maker Soldano entered the pedal market not long ago with the SLO overdrive, a stompbox version of the (loved by many) Overdrive channel of their two-channel SLO amplifier, based on a cascading gain design. The Soldano SLO Plus pedal reintegrates, in a slightly wider case, the other (clean) channel found in the original amp.
The two channels can’t be stacked on top of each other, it’s an “either/or/configuration via the Channel footswitch, while the other one on the right turns the pedal on and off.
Each channel has a Preamp and Master knob to dial in levels and amount of saturation, with the Overdrive side delivering the rich and dynamic overdrive that made the Soldano amp a winner, in particular for crunch tones.
Both channels share a 3-band EQ section, a Presence control, and a Deep switch located on the right side of the case, for added low frequencies.
