In recent years, the utility pedal niche has expanded to include some truly interesting devices, and no one can expect an imaginative builder like Cooper FX to put out something that’s not – at the very least – inspiring. Enter the Cooper FX Signal Path Selector & Exp Gen.
These are two MIDI-integrated devices designed as both pedalboard problem solvers and unique creative tools.
Exp-Gen is a compact, multi-mode expression controller with four outputs and four modes of operation (Trigger, Latch, Automatic, and Tap). It gives you several ways to control effect parameters in real-time.
The Signal Path Selector is a pedal chain multi-tool, and lets you do several things with the push of a button:
- reconfigure the order of your pedals
- blend independent loops with your dry signal
- invert phase
- set up AB or ABY configurations

In this demo, we put both pedals into action in a full-band context, along with the amazing Cooper FX Arcades and some choice effects from Alexander Pedals and Rainger FX, then we take a tour of the basic functions of each.
