Few effects beat the sound of a gloriously lush chorus – in particular in stereo – and the Spiral Array, part of the Black Country Customs series of pedals manufactured by UK’s builder Laney Amplification, promises exactly that, in three variations.
A toggle switch in the center of the pedal allows the player to access three distinctly different flavors of stereo vintage chorus inspired by the classic sound of the pedals manufacturers from the mid ’70s to the mid ’80s.
These are the models the emulations are based on:
An = analog chorus based on a thick lush 1976 Boss CE1
TSC = uber-rich sounding 1985 Dytronics Tri Stereo Chorus
DIM = a spatial digital chorus based off the 1979 Roland Dimension D
Check out how the Black Country Customs Spiral Array sounds in the demos below – we added to our list of the Best Stereo Chorus Pedals.
