Gearphoria, the leading digital magazine covering all things boutique guitar gear, and The Deli’s Stompbox Exhibit, the prime mover in pedal effects exhibitions across North America, have formed a strategic partnership that will initially result in the collaboration on the upcoming print issue of The Deli magazine linked to the 2016 edition of the Brooklyn Stompbox Exhibit. The event, arguably the biggest stompbox party in the world, is scheduled for the weekend of September 10-11 at Main Drag Music.

The Deli is a 12 year-old, free print music magazine focused on the community of New York City based emerging musicians, but starting with the September issue it will begin shifting its focus more heavily on gear, featuring an extensive section about electric guitar-related content curated byGearphoria, which this fall celebrates four years of in-depth coverage of all things ‘small builder-centric’ guitars, amps and effects pedals. All issues of Gearphoria — a free-to-read publication — can be viewed by going to gearphoria.com. Digital issues of The Deli can be read here.

“The opportunity to align with Paolo and The Deli is an excellent way to help get Gearphoria-branded content in front of more members of the ever-increasing gear community,” said Blake Wright, publisher and editor-in-chief of Gearphoria. “While fully committed to being in the digital publishing world, we do recognize that the news of the ‘death of print’ has been exaggerated and we are excited to be involved in our first true print project.”

The two publications, which remain independently-owned entities, intend to further their relationship in 2017, by consolidating the advertisers from both platforms to fund special print editions of Gearphoria linked to the Winter NAMM Stompbox Exhibit in Anaheim, California and the SXSWStompbox Exhibit in Austin, Texas.

“Thanks to Blake’s talent for finding the stories and the humanity behind the gear, Gearphoria perfectly complements what we do with The Deli and the Stompbox Exhibit,” said Paolo De Gregorio, editor-in-chief of The Deli and organizer of the Stompbox Exhibit. “I’m particularly excited to bring to the thousands of guitarists who attend our events yearly a print issue that’s more in line with their interests and that explores in depth the world of manufacturing.”
