Since its appearance in the late '60s, psychedelic music has been inspiring hordes of musicians, and has probably been the main reason driving the guitar pedal frenzy. The current indie music scene offers thousands of artists that reference psychedelia, from subtly to wholeheartedly. One of the bands that most vigorously (and unapologetically) embraces the genre is Los Angeles' Triptides. With their vintage sounding songs that could have been written in the '60s, in their recent release "Afterglow" the group manages to reference in one record anybody from early Pink Floyd to Jefferson Airplane, the Doors and even The Beatles and The Byrds during their most psych years. GIRAFFES!  is one of those bands crafting deliciously head-spinning math-rock licks so labyrinthine, that you'd imagine it'd be tough for even a full four or five piece band to execute.
