Empress Effects Reverb

Another pedal garnering attention at this year’s NAMM conference is the Empress Reverb. This new verb is stacked with tweakable features including some standard ones AND bizarre ones like “beer”, “sparkle”, and “ghost”. The combinations are nearly endless as there are four settings for the standard plate, room, hall, and spring reverb and then another 8 less conventional settings.... Click on the title for more

Like its line predecessor SuperDelay, this effect seems to insert itself (both in size and concept) somewhere  between a regular "few knobs" stompbox and the more complicated but flexible reverb units with display manufactured by companies like Eventide and Strymon: like these, the effect comes with a fair amount of knobs which open up a lot of options, but unlike them it has a smaller footprint (5.7" by 3.75") and no display.... NAMM pedal news: Empress Stereo Buffer+

This year's NAMM has brought us some new gadgets we want to get our paws on. Here's one that stood out from the crowd- the Empress Effects' Stereo Buffer Plus. As the name implies, it's a double buffer unit in one box, set up for stereo, and probably the ultimate in analog I/O for the guitarist. It offers all the features of their standard Buffer Plus (input pad/instrument loading/30 dB of boost, tuner path, etc.) with added lil' goodies, such as an assignable foot switch - A/B or A/Y mode. One output is transformer isolated, both channels offer several bands of noise filtration per the original, plus there are multi-impedance options on the first input.... Click on the title for more
