Black Cat OD-Fuzz Deluxe

http://www.blackcatpedals.com/ http://proguitarshop.com/black-cat-od-fuzz-deluxe.html Next, Proguitarshop and Tonereport.com we're getting a look at the OD-Fuzz Deluxe from Black Cat Pedals. The OD-Fuzz Deluxe is a dual pedal that combines Black Cat's modern classic OD-1 overdrive with an all-new Fuzz Face variant that Black Cat developed exclusively for this pairing. The Fuzz Face side is engineered to stack well with the OD-1 in any order, and features a switch that changes the first transistor from a BC109 silicon to a medium-gain germanium transistor for some classic goodness. This germanium front end reacts extremely well when the OD-1 is pushing it, creating a compressed wall of vintage dirt. The Fuzz Face side also includes a re-worked biasing circuit that dramatically changes the flavor of the fuzz beyond a dying-battery sputter. The OD-1 side is an original circuit, which is centered around a high-quality OP275 op-amp. The OD-1 was built around the unique musical properties of this chip for a truly unique overdrive experience that responds well to picking attack and your guitar's controls. The centrally-located toggle switch gives you even more versatility by letting you select the order of the stacking. Using this order switcher drastically alters the sound of the OD-Fuzz Deluxe by letting you use the first pedal's volume knob as a saturation knob and the second pedal's volume as a master volume. This opens up the sonic palette of the pedal significantly for almost infinite tonal combinations. And just like all Black Cat pedals, the OD-Fuzz Deluxe is built by real humans right here in the USA.

New Pedals: Black Cat N-Fuzz

Jun15_Blackcat_nfuzz_WEB[1] Our friends at Black Cat Pedals just released a new fuzz stompbox called N-Fuzz based on an N-Channel transistor (hence the name). This box is based on the Fuzz channel of the OD-Fuzz, but with Japanese components and an extra wide ranging Bias control that allows you to dial in a sweeping array of fuzz tones and timbres. The original N-Fuzz, designed by Fred Bonte was made in limited numbers between 2001 and 2003, and was only available in the Asian market. The circuit was based on a modified Fuzz Face, with an additional toggle switch for high and low output. This new version replaces the toggle switch with a variable bias control pot, allowing for more versatility and in-between options, offering many different tones and timbres of fuzz. ...
