Strymon debuts Sunset Dual Overdrive at Austin Stompbox Exhibit

Strymon-Sunset Strymon, at last, seems to have gotten the distortion bug - and overcome their aversion for the color red! The Californian stompbox manufacturer just unveiled their second distortion pedal ever, after 2016's Riverside Overdrive (since their birth in 2008, they had only released non-distortion pedals, developing a reputation for luscious clean sounds, although the OB.1 compressor and the Deco tape emulator featured respectively a Boost and a Saturation circuit).... Demos of the Strymon Riverside Multi Stage Overdrive

The Strymon Riverside was certainly one of the most anticipated pedals of 2016, if anything because it represented the first take on distortion from a manufacturer that was able, in recent years, to redefine the stompbox format for pretty much any other kind of effect, from modulation to delay to reverb.... Cloud Becomes Your Hand’s gear and creative process

13533363_602981216533308_2979982910698234528_n[1] NYC's Cloud Becomes Your Hand's creative potential is on full display in their sophomore album "Rest In Flea," a multi-colored sonic adventure released by intrepid Queens label Northern Spy, home to an enviable collection of NYC's best experimental talents of all ages. But the record, a brilliantly quirky but very musical collage of robotic numbers, psychedelia and musical deconstruction, doesn't tell the whole story. With electronic xylophone, clarinet and electric violin rounding up their drum/bass/guitar sonic backbone, the sextet offers a monstrously tight live show featuring perfectly choreographed movements and sublime moments of absurdity, reminiscent of a DIY blend of Devo, Wire and The Residents.... Stone Cold Fox’s pedals and gear

unnamed Melodic and atmospheric, Brooklyn's Cold Stone Fox boasts a sound that's multifaceted but extremely balanced. Their latest EP 'Tunnel Vision' harmoniously blends psychedelia with some of that melodic, ethereal but somewhat dark rock of the '80s (we hear a little bit of Simple Minds and The Church). Such well produced sound could not NOT trigger some Delicious Audio questions about their gear...... Click on the title for more

Pedal News: Strymon Mobius

One of the sickest companies making stomp boxes right now is Strymon. They make really great digital pedals that focus on getting the tone exactly right, often times incorporating high end SHARC processor DSPs. Their next pedal, Mobius, is all about modulation. Everything from lush choruses to pulsating tremolo as well as unlikely additions including AM modulation and bit crushing, this pedal is super diverse. This offering seems similar in technical depth to Stymon's Timeline delay that I reviewed a while back and loved; a tone tweaker's delight. Needless to say, I am extremely excited about this release and can't wait to hear it in person. -Gus Green... Click on the title for more
